4 min read

Even though hot sauce show season was a bust this year due to COVID, the 2020 NYC Hot Sauce Expos still held its well-known Screaming Mi Mi Awards, where some of the best hot sauces in the industry are judged. Here are this year's winners! Congratulations to some of the great sauces award this year.

Grand World Champion

Hellfire Fear This

Hellfire Hot Sauce, Fear This

Hellfire Fear This is a vinegar-forward hot sauce that features the world's hottest pepper, the Carolina Reaper, as it's first ingredient. Once you make it past that first burst of intense heat, however, you find that this sauce has a deep flavor, with garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, the bright flavor of tomatillos, lime and lemon, and a hint of spice from curry, ginger, cumin, and black pepper.
Heat: Extremely Hot
As Grand World Champion, Hellfire Hot Sauce also won an amazing prize package worth $20,000!

Dirty Dicks Hot Sauce

Dirty Dick's hot sauce deceives you. At first taste it's a sweet, mild, Caribbean-style hot sauce with hints of mango, pineapple, and banana. But then the habanero creeps up on you and you start to feel the heat. And then you want more. Much more. The heat is by no means overwhelming, but it is a great counterpoint to the tropical fruits. Goes great with fish, eggs, and chicken.

When Dick first sent us a sample of this sauce, Dante and I blew through the entire bottle in a single day. Seriously, it's really that good. And it's now a staple in our house.
